She takes this as an order to hunt down the Avatar and force him to heal Ozai. One day, Azula manages to escape from her imprisonment, given instructions from her father to simply "get back his power".

Zuko and Mai are the Fire Lord and Lady, ruling over the Fire Nation peacefully. Aang and Katara are living in the Southern Water Tribe with Sokka, Momo, and Appa. It has been three years since the epic battle between Avatar Aang and Fire Lord Ozai sent the latter to prison without his abilities, along with his daughter and mentally broken-down accomplice, Azula.
